# Filter, search, and pin

Narrow the Console with Status pills, the Host and Workspace menus, and search, and pin the agents you want at the top.

The Console has four ways to cut a long agent list down: Status pills, the Host and Workspace menus, a search field, and pins. Filters change what you see. Pins change what comes first.

## Filter by status

The pills at the top of the list each show one slice:

| Pill | Shows |
| --- | --- |
| **All** | Every agent and shell. |
| **Chat** | Agents running in Chat Mode, whatever their status. |
| **Needs Attention** | Blocked and Done agents. |
| **Blocked**, **Done**, **Working** | Agents in that one status. |

Every pill is always there, even when it matches nothing. Idle and Unknown agents have no pill of their own and show under **All** (and under **Chat** when they're Chat Mode agents). Plain shells show only under **All**.

After the pills comes the **Closed** chip. It lists only Closed Sessions, no live agents. Tap it again to go back to **All**. See [Closed Sessions](https://waycar.dev/help/closed-sessions).

## Filter by Host or Workspace

Use the Host and Workspace menus in the bottom bar. Pick **All Hosts** or **All Workspaces** to see everything again. The Workspace menu lists the Workspaces of the Host you chose, and a Workspace stays listed whatever its agents are doing. See [Workspaces](https://waycar.dev/help/workspaces).

## Search for an agent

1. Tap the search icon at the start of the pill row.
2. Type part of a folder, Workspace, tab, agent name, or terminal title.

Search ignores case and replaces the status filter while you type. It always finds Closed Sessions too, listed after the live agents. If nothing matches, tap **Clear Search**.

## Pin an agent to the top

Touch and hold a card and tap **Pin**. Pinned agents stay above every status group, most recently pinned first. Tap **Unpin** to put it back in its place.

- Pins work for shells as well as agents.
- A pin belongs to the pane, so it survives a herdr restart that brings the same pane back.
- Pins sync to your other devices with [iCloud Sync](https://waycar.dev/help/icloud-sync).
- Pinned agents also come first in your [Live Activities](https://waycar.dev/help/live-activities).

To pin several at once, touch and hold a card, tap **Select**, check the others, and tap **Pin** in the bottom bar. See [Rename, close, and mark agents](https://waycar.dev/help/manage-agents).

## Good to know

Status pills that scroll out of view fade out beside the search icon. On iPad, search and the pills share the row with the sidebar button.
